As an industrial engineer, you make products better and less expensive—and you make life easier. You’ll work with complex systems involving people, equipment and information to find ways to make them work more efficiently and productively.

At Arizona State University, you’ll have the opportunity to put your ideas and skills to work early. You’ll use your technical skills, combined with simulation and database tools to enhance efficiency and profitability while also undertaking hands-on activities to spark creativity and originality in design.

Industrial engineers look at all of the pieces of a system and figure out ways to make it faster, safer and easier. They are interested in making companies more successful—not just manufacturing companies, but a wide range of industries including healthcare, entertainment, telecommunications and transportation.

Because industrial engineers help improve both quality and productivity, they are valuable to companies of all sizes—even in lean economic times.

ASU’s industrial engineering program is ranked among the top 20 in the nation.

In addition to gaining core skills in physical, mathematical and social sciences, you have access to hands-on, experiential opportunities through on-campus research projects and our close proximity to the many companies located in the Phoenix metropolitan area.
