Mechanical engineers encompass a multitude of disciplines. They create devices and tools for all sectors of society, while collaborating with scientists and engineers in many different fields. As a mechanical engineer, you can create an entire machine or a singular complex component.

Whether you want to pursue a career in analysis, biotech research or automotive design, you’ll find the resources and experiences to get you started at Arizona State University.

Mechanical engineers develop a variety of technologies, from machines that use power, to machines that harness it.

As a student in mechanical engineering, you will learn principles governing energy transfer, mechanical design, sensors and control devices plus the application of these principles for the creative solution of practical modern problems.

ASU’s Mechanical Engineering program is rapidly evolving, bringing new ideas and applications, from human-machine interaction to computational modeling to renewable energy.

You’ll have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience early in your educational experience by working with faculty in the labs, through one of our many student organizations or through our industrial connections.
