Computer systems have expanded far beyond desktop machines and today are embedded in nearly all aspects of life, from smartphones to kitchen appliances to life-saving medical devices.

Be a part of the next generation of adaptive and intelligent devices that help to address complex societal, health, security and sustainability problems.

Computer systems engineering not only focuses on how computer systems work, but also on how they integrate into larger systems such as those used in airplanes, digital media, security systems, cell phones, intelligent highways, automobile control systems and medical devices.

With ASU’s Computer Systems Engineering program, you’ll gain the knowledge and skills necessary to advance and develop new paradigms for the design, integration, testing, evaluation and deployment of state-of-the-art systems.

ASU is in a large metropolitan area, offering you opportunities with component manufacturers and system innovators. Arizona is home to major computing systems research companies such as Intel and IBM, as well as system integrators like Honeywell, Raytheon, Boeing and General Dynamics.

You’ll also have the chance to work alongside faculty who are making research advances in wireless networks, human-computer interaction, green computing and pervasive healthcare.
