Aerospace engineers are the creators of nonterrestrial vehicles from airplanes and helicopters to hovercraft and spaceships.

Aerospace engineers apply a broad range of engineering skills and use sophisticated computational tools to design and analyze state-of-the-art, aerodynamically efficient wings and surfaces in the pursuit of optimally efficient vehicles. They invent and design lightweight composite materials and structures, highly efficient propulsion devices and autonomous, intelligent control systems.

Many of the technologies being developed today can be applied to create more efficient aircraft and spacecraft. As a student in aerospace engineering at Arizona State University, you will be the one designing the vehicles of the future.

Our students are not waiting to graduate to get started. You will have the opportunity to join students who are building real rockets, satellites and devices for the next generation of space travel. Through student organizations such as the Daedalus Astronautics club, Air Devils and the Sun Devil Satellite Laboratory, you can join teams that design, build and compete in national competitions.

ASU is surrounded by aerospace and defense high-tech companies. You’ll have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field and on campus in state-of-the-art laboratories.
